Recognising artistic talent and potential

The Twilight Concerts Tertiary Study Award is designed to recognise and assist Katikati students who have demonstrated artistic talent and potential and who are pursuing a career in the arts. This award is also available to adult students who fit our criteria and reside in the designated area.

The Twilight Concerts Tertiary Study Award is designed to recognise and assist Katikati students who have demonstrated artistic talent and potential and who are pursuing a career in the arts. This award is also available to adult students who fit our criteria and reside in the designated area.

Objectives
To financially assist Katikati students who intend to pursue or are already pursuing a career in the arts.
To increase the number of artists in the Katikati region.
To encourage the development of talent in the arts.

Eligibility
An applicant is eligible for consideration if they are:
Studying at tertiary level in one of the following categories:
Music
Art
Drama
Film & Stage Production.
Photography
Dance

Residing in, or whose family home is in, the Katikati area as defined by the boundaries of the Western Bay of Plenty District Council north of the Wairoa River.

If shortlisted, following the application you will be required to attend an interview by appointment, the following week after closing November 29, 2021.

The successful applicants should be available to accept the award at the first Twilight Concert to be held on Saturday January 8, 2022 at the Haiku Reserve.


Funding
Up to two scholarships may be awarded in any one year.
Each scholarship will be for up to NZ$2000.

The scholarship will be paid as follows:
Where possible the scholarship money will be paid directly to the relevant tertiary institution for the payment of fees and other ancillary expenses, otherwise the money will be paid directly to the applicant to reimburse expenses once proof of payment of these costs has been given to the Twilight Concerts Committee.

HOW TO APPLY

Applicants must complete the application form – please also attach any other relevant information.

The deadline for submitting the application is 5pm on November 29, 2021.

All applicants will be informed of the Committee's decisions by December 13, 2021.

Applicants must supply the names and phone numbers of two people prepared to act as referees.
